Listening to the thoughts and needs of many biennial directors, curators, and administrators internationally, the Biennial Foundation has been investigating what it can mean for biennial organizations worldwide, and how it ideally should function and operate. Since the launch of the Biennial Foundation many representatives active in the international biennial field have been consulted to discuss the potencies and capacities of the Biennial Foundation.
Various individual meetings with professionals around the globe took place as well as two Biennial Foundation Workshops in Shanghai and São Paolo, dedicated to reflect upon the foundation’s content development, and to
create an initial communication outside Europe.
Based on the outcome of these conventions,
an Organization and Activities Plan has been defined. The Biennial Foundation is currently
in conversation with international funding partners to collaboratively support the first three years of its professional activities.
