Prospect.2 will present the work of 62 artists selected from more than 20 countries and from diverse cultural, generational and artistic backgrounds. Each artist in the exhibition will be provided with a dedicated space or venue located in sites throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area.  Many of the world’s most promising and/or recognized artists have been invited to develop major new projects to be premiered in New Orleans.

Prospect.2 New Orleans will take place at 20 venues in 7 neighborhoods. Venues include major cultural institutions, as well as smaller institutions, municipal spaces and other sites in neighborhoods that the conventional tourist routes usually overlook, such as Central City and Treme. U.S. Biennial staff works closely with artists and venues to create meaningful relationships between the site and the artworks that are installed in each location, allowing artists to be inspired by the unique history, architecture, and culture of New Orleans.
