On 15 January 2013 Biennial Foundation sent out two letters of support to the Minister of Culture in New Delhi Smt. Chandresh Kumari Katoch and to the Culture Minister in Kerala Shri. K C Joseph to ask renewed support for the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, India’s first contemporary art biennial.
India’s State Government has now released the much-needed funds necessary for the Kochi Muziris Biennale: Rs 4 crore more.
The letter was circulated and unanimously signed by all participants of the World Biennial Forum No1 (Gwangju, South Korea, October 2012). Biennial Foundation is pleased to have contributed to this positive decision, and is looking forward to the next Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
