Whitstable Biennale
Satellite 2014
Registration for the 2014 Satellite Programme which will run from 31 May – 15 June 2014 alongside the Whitstable Biennale is now accepted.
The Deadline for registration forms is Monday 31 March.
Projects can be organised by individual artists, groups or organisations. Artists are responsible for sourcing their own venues and materials, and the Biennale does not have the resources to offer any direct funding for Satellite projects, but we will give support and advice as much and wherever possible.
The many benefits of participation include a ready made audience, marketing and promotion, exposure, the motivation to make new work, forming new creative contacts, being creatively active and showing work in a new context.
ABOUT THE SATELLITE MEMBERSHIP SCHEME
Participation in the 2014 Satellite Programme is free, and all projects will be listed in the printed and online programme.
However, the organizers strongly encourage all participating artists to consider joining the Satellite Artists Membership Scheme. The benefits of membership during the festival include a full colour page in the Satellite Programme catalogue and the opportunity to sign up for a curatorial visit during the Biennale with a guest curator.
Inclusive of the membership you will also be invited to talks, events, workshops, trips and professional development opportunities throughout the year. Please see the Satellite Membership page for an outline of Satellite membership benefits and how to sign up.
ARTISTS SURGERIES
Artist surgeries are an informal opportunity to discuss any project ideas with the Satellite organiser. They aim to offer guidance and support towards the realisation of your project. The organizers are very happy to help you and give you as much information as you need, however it is the responsibility of participating Satellite artists to find and secure their own venue and obtain the correct licensing, if needed, for their project themselves.
