Yokohama Round

Fri, November 3, 2017
14:00-16:00
Lecture Hall, Yokohama Museum of Art

Yokohama Round invites experts from various fields for a roundtable discussion, conducting several rounds of dialogues and discussions. Under the title “Aspiring to Find More Beautiful Constellations: What is the Potential of Art?,” we organize the last Yokohama Round which concerns the wisdom of ancient sailors voyaging across ocean by astronavigation, imagination and creativity of human beings who found mythical representations and wove stories by drawing lines between stars.

In this round, we will review the past rounds of discussions and discuss the complexity, diversity, multifaceted nature, pluralism, among others of the contemporary world, while looking back to Yokohama Triennale 2017. We will also talk about seeing the in-between of things from attempts of artists, various ways of isolation and connectivity, imagination/creativity connecting isolated and separated things, quantum leap in thoughts, and how such experiences transform ideas on future visions and inspire our lives in the coming age. Furthermore, we will talk about the potentials of international exhibitions.
